June 9, 2011 Definitely not struggling to find anything to be grateful for today. Today I’m grateful that: I was only halfway down the front steps when this tree fell in front of my house, and not all the way down the steps. It was scary enough to see it coming down right in front of me! So grateful that no one was walking by at that moment, and that it fell the way it did, doing absolutely no damage to anything. Once again I’m so grateful for my neighbors, who came out in the midst of a rainy, windy storm filled with lightning and thunder to make sure I was okay after hearing the tree fall and my subsequent screams. I’m especially grateful for my ever-reliable next-door neighbor, Artie, who came hurrying over and stayed with me on my front porch until my dad showed up.
